The descent, like many descents on the Glover Highlander walk, is
very severe, around 440m in 1180m, which you can see from part of
the ground shown in the lower left corner.
The people on the beach are walkers, many of whom took a little
time off to paddle. They would have been walking for around 5 to
7 hours at this point.
Altan Farm, when you get to it, is a deserted historic fortified
building. The organisers of the walk had a manned checkpoint just
to the right of the building.
